CASPER, Wyo. — A powerful thunderstorm moved through Natrona County and Casper on Thursday night, causing some reports of minor flooding and power outages, but no serious damage.

Casper Fire-EMS spokesperson Christopher Steinhoff said there were no serious incidents last night.

“There was a vehicle accident on Poplar that was caused by the large accumulation of water in that area,” he said via email. “That’s about it.”

Some Oil City News readers reported water in basements as well as water coming in through the windows of ground-level apartments.

Readers also reported flooded intersections in Evansville during the more intense periods of rainfall.

The National Weather Service in Riverton says flash flood watches are in effect for lower elevations of Natrona County and Casper Mountain through Sunday.
