Casper College Theatre and Dance inviting kids ages 3–12 to ‘Cinderella’s Ball’

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper College Theatre and Dance Department is inviting kids ages 3–12 to attend “Cinderella’s Ball” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 1.

“Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo,” Casper College Theatre and Dance said in an announcement. “It’s true! Cinderella is having a ball.”

There will be dancing and music at the event, along with a chance for photos with Cinderella, Chontelle Gray with Casper College Theatre and Dance said.

Cinderella’s Ball will take place in the Thomas H. Empey Studio on the south side of the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance, 1631 Campus Drive in Casper.

The event on Saturday comes as Casper College Theatre and Dance prepares for performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” with shows scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13–15 and Oct. 20–22 on the McMurry Mainstage in the Gertrude Krampert Center. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Oct. 22

The Thursday, Oct. 20 show will be an ASL-interpreted performance.

“Brought to the Broadway stage in 2013, this revival of the classic tale of Cinderella comes to life on the McMurry Mainstage,” an event description for the performances states. “Attend the ball where all the single women of the kingdom vie for the eye, and hand, of the prince, only to be out-shown by the beauty who appears, unrecognized because her beauty has always been hidden under the smudge of cinders from her fireplace.

“Watch as the Fairy Godmother transforms Cinderella before your very eyes, along with a pumpkin coach, and animal footmen. This production has it all. Beautiful music, graceful dance, and the magic of love that transforms and reveals the beauty in everyone.”

Tickets for “Cinderella” are available from Casper College online.
