CASPER, Wyo. — After roughly 2,000 people reported power outages throughout Casper on Sunday morning, electricity has been restored for the vast majority, Rocky Mountain Power reports. However, a small number of residents are still without electricity and could remain without electricity until the evening.

For many of the 2,095 people who found themselves without power in the morning, service was restored around 11 a.m. According to an update from Rocky Mountain Power, though, roughly 35 people remain powerless as of 11:25 a.m.

Those customers may not see their power restored until roughly 6 p.m., though the company added it may also be restored before then.

The outage, which hit customers in the 82601 and 82604 ZIP codes, was first reported just before 7 a.m. on Sunday. The cause of the outage remains unknown and is under investigation.
