CASPER, Wyo. — Today is Giving Tuesday, and the YMCA of Natrona County is looking to the community to support its Strong Communities Campaign that provides financial assistance for memberships and programs.

The YMCA’s goal for Giving Tuesday is $40,000. Donations can be made here.

One of the new programs the YMCA is introducing is the SPLASH Program. Through the new program, the YMCA is partnering with the Natrona County School District to provide free swim lessons to every third-grade student in the county.

Journey Elementary School and Park Elementary School are the first schools to pilot the SPLASH Program, where students receive potentially life-saving swim lessons in an effort to reduce drowning deaths in the community.

According to the YMCA of Natrona County, a $500 donation will provide 10 students with the opportunity to participate in the SPLASH Program and a $100 donation will provide two students with the opportunity to participate in it.
