CASPER, Wyo. — Casper Area Transit, operated by the City of Casper, announced it is celebrating and recognizing the essential service provided by transit drivers around the world by observing Transit Driver Appreciation Day on Friday, March 17.
In the announcement, Public Transit Manager Scott Dresher said this is an opportunity to thank the drivers for getting people to work, medical appointments, the grocery store and other numerous activities each day.
“No matter the challenge — weather, traffic, or whatever may come — Casper Area Transit bus drivers strive to provide excellent customer service on a daily basis,” Dresher said. “These dedicated, hardworking employees care about their riders and take their job of providing an affordable, reliable, and safe commuting experience seriously. How can you thank your transit divers?”
Transit Driver Appreciation Day is an event traditionally observed on March 18. In 1662, the first “Five Penny Coaches” bus line was established in Paris, France.
