CASPER, Wyo. — A public open house to envision the future extension of Westwinds Road will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the Public Safety Building of the Casper/Natrona County International Airport, 8328 Fuller St.

The open house is being organized by the Casper Area Metropolitan Planning Organization in coordination with the airport and Natrona County, a news release states.

Westwinds Road connects to the interstate north of Bar Nunn and currently dead ends west of Tonkawa Trail. The study will examine a future extension to Six Mile Road near the Natrona County International Airport.

The purpose of this open house is to gain feedback from the public regarding their priorities for the roadway, such as minimizing construction costs or maximizing access to developable land, the release states. Ultimately, the result of this study will be a conceptual design and cost estimate to construct the roadway.

Ardurra, which has been contracted to conduct the planning study and preliminary design for the proposed Westwinds Road extension, will provide information on several conceptual alternatives for the roadway in addition to providing background information on existing and forecast traffic conditions within the study area.

Attendees are welcome to drop into the meeting at any time that is convenient for them. Attendees will be able to view large aerial maps of the study area and ask questions to the project team while enjoying light refreshments.

More information about the study is available by visiting https://bit.ly/westwindsroad or by contacting the project team via phone at 307-291-8738 or email at glscott@ardurra.com.
