CASPER, Wyo. — The First Thursday Casper downtown Art Walk kicks off the 2023 season Thursday, June 1.

According to ART 321 Director and Gallery Manager Jenniey Elliott, the event starts at 5:30 p.m., with events being held at ART 321 and dozens of businesses and organizations participating throughout downtown and the Old Yellowstone District.

Elliott has taken over primary planning of the First Thursdays event, which is a rebranded version of the Casper Art Walk. Elliott said more businesses in downtown’s core will participate than before. The next event is Thursday, July 6.

Music, art and activities will be featured at ART 321, with kids activities by the Nicolaysen Art Museum also featured on site.

Nearby David Street Station is featuring live, free music, with The Flashback Band starting at 6 p.m., followed by Pleasure People.

Bull Horn Brewing, now located at the former Yellowstone Garage location, will kick off its “Downtown Sound” summer live music series on the outdoor stage and beer garden at 6 p.m.

The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra will have its office doors open at 225 S. David St. “Live music by Principal Harpist Jane Ann Hamman as well as [showing] a series of limited-edition prints by Casper-born fine artist Gabrielle Reeves. The five prints paint a narrative of Aaron Copland’s ‘Rodeo,'” they said in a social media post.

Black Tooth Brewing will feature the Hangry Dog food truck and live music by The Man in Tan starting at 6 p.m.

Nearby Frontier Brewing Company will feature the I’Scream for Wings food truck, and will be showing the Denver Nuggets playing the Miami Heat on its big screen in the Nuggets’ first-ever NBA finals appearance. Kaspen Haley & Boxelder Stomp will perform on Frontier’s stage starting at 6 p.m.

Backwards Distilling Company will feature live jazz by the 4K Quartet in its tasting room at 214 S. Wolcott, starting at 5 p.m.

The Red Peak Gallery at First State Bank, located at 104 S. Wolcott, will feature a meet and greet with artist Chad Hanson starting at 6 p.m., along with music from Jimmy Sue Revue. A cash bar will be on hand.

Other participating businesses and organizations include Goedickes Custom Framing and Art Supply, Scarlow’s Gallery, Art & Coffee, The Drinkery by Cory, Racca’s Pizzeria Napoletana-Casper, and The Gaslight Social.
