CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Fire Department has recently promoted Christopher Steinhoff to the position of fire captain.
Fire captains are small team leaders of the fire department. The position puts the individual in charge of leading a team into many different and challenging situations. It is ultimately up to the captain to ensure stabilization of the call for service and the overall safety of the crew.
The captain’s responsibility also does not stop when the call is complete, as they are responsible for record keeping for the department.
“This mission-first mindset is what makes a good leader and Captain Steinhoff exemplifies this every day,” department public information officer Adam Maiers said in a release. “We are proud of Captain Steinhoff’s accomplishments and look forward to his continued leadership.”
