CASPER, Wyo. — The Olivia Caldwell Foundation, in partnership with Stella Strong Fund, has achieved a significant milestone, donating over $1 million toward pediatric cancer research. This accomplishment was celebrated at the foundation’s 10th anniversary Donor Appreciation Event in Casper on Nov. 17.

The foundation announced a $140,000 donation, matching its largest ever, to support pediatric cancer research. This contribution brings its total to $925,000 over 10 years, according to a press release by the Olivia Caldwell Foundation and Stella Strong Fund.

Included in this grant is $100,000 dedicated to finding more effective and less toxic treatments for various pediatric cancers. An additional $40,000 will support research specifically targeting DIPG brain cancer, a deadly pediatric cancer with a 0% survival rate.

The Stella Strong Fund of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation also made a notable contribution of $20,000 at the event, bringing its total giving to $108,000. This fund, established in memory of Stella Beard from Douglas, works within the Olivia Caldwell Foundation to raise funds for DIPG brain cancer research.

Collective Impact on Pediatric Cancer Research

Katie Burchett, CEO/founder of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation, expressed gratitude and optimism.

We are providing better treatment options, hope, and a future to children who otherwise would not have had one.”

The joint efforts of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation and Stella Strong have led to improved treatments for 10 types of pediatric cancers, including the one that claimed Olivia Caldwell’s life.

They remain dedicated to providing hope and advanced treatments in memory of Olivia Caldwell and Stella Beard, according to the press release.
