CASPER, Wyo. — The weekend is coming, and with it comes a slew of activities community members can take part in. For Friday, Casper residents can fill their day starting with 6 a.m. yoga and ending with downtown film fun the whole family can enjoy.

Here are five events that will be taking place Friday:

Morning Yoga on the Labyrinth

Attention, all early risers: For those willing to get up bright and early at 6 a.m. for physical activity, Yoga on the Labyrinth and the Mountain is looking for participants for morning yoga on the banks of the Platte River.

According to the event’s page on the City of Casper website, people of all skill levels are welcome, even those without a yoga mat. Instructors have mats for all participants to borrow.

Yoga on the Labyrinth is a reoccurring event that takes place throughout the summer with rotating instructors, which means participants can try a variety of styles to find the one they prefer.

This event is entirely free, but donations are accepted and will go to supporting the nonprofit offering these free classes.

The entire month of June will be filled with leatherworking fun at the Natrona County Library’s Creation Station. For Friday, June 14 from 1 to 3 p.m., participants will be creating a notebook sleeve with pen and business card holders out of leather.

According to the library, participants will learn valuable skills like stitching and cutting during the workshop that will serve them well in future leatherworking projects.

The library added that this event is accessible to crafters of all skill levels, and materials will be provided alongside expert assistance.

While the event is free, registration is required due to limited space. The library also said that one Creation Station project is all one can register in per month so that spaces are available to as many people as possible.

This project is also available June 28. To see more information and how to register, see the event’s page on the library’s website.

All summer long, family-friendly movies will be shown for free at David Street Station starting June 14.

Sponsored by the Memorial Hospital of Converse County, these free-to-watch films will be shown every other Friday. This Friday’s film will be “Zootopia.”

The film starts at 7 p.m., and the schedule available at the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce website encourages moviegoers to show up prepared with blankets and camping chairs so they can secure a good spot early.

Dessert and snack vendors, as well as face painting, will also be available at the event.
