Casper College’s Department of Theatre and Dance’s performed their final dress rehearsal for Igor Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” ballet on Wednesday night.
The production premiered at Thursday, in the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance.
The ballet is set to legendary Russian composer Igor Stravinsky’s 1910 score.
“For years I have used ‘The Firebird’ ballet as a teaching moment with sophomore dance majors while they learned about the neoclassical period in ballet,” writes director and choreographer Jodi Youmans-Jones in the program. “This has truly been a work of passion with many voices in collaboration.”
The production features light design by Mark Spitzer and costumes by Darrell Wagner.
The production runs from April 4-6 and 11-13, at 7:30 p.m.
Matinees are April 7 and 13 at 2 p.m.
