“Join Commander Toad and the tip-top, hip-hop crew as they take a pun-filled journey across the galaxy in the spaceship Star Warts,” an event announcement says. “And after the show, you can take your own Star Warts pictures in the lobby with the actors.”
The planetarium’s infrastructure will be utilized to bring the stories to life.
“Live actors appear and disappear as they speak from behind the dome,” the Casper Planetarium says. “The dome itself is filled with still and animated graphics to set the scenes. And down on the floor is a table covered with all sorts of things, from Star Trek replica toys to random items from the kitchen or garage … all used to create the live sound effects that accompany the show.”
Performances are scheduled for the following times:
- 7 pm Thursday, Aug. 22
- 7 pm Friday, Aug. 23
- 2 pm and 4 pm Saturday, Aug. 24
- 2 pm and 4 pm Sunday, Aug. 25
Tickets are $5 per person and are available at the door. They can also be purchased in advance from 9 am-5 pm weekdays at the Casper Planetarium.
The show is recommended for ages five and up with kids needing to be accompanied by an adult.
The Casper Planetarium is located at 904 South Poplar Street.
