CASPER, Wyo —Soft-pop singer-songwriter Ethan Hopkins and Wyoming Arts Council Creative Nonfiction Fellow Joel Burdess will perform verse at the Downtown Grill & Venue Monday, July 20, kicking off Artcore’s 2020-2021 season. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Hopkins has been playing live shows since age 15 at any venue that will host him. Live shows include performances on guitar, ukulele, or piano, and sometimes feature live-recorded loops. “Recordings are typically EDM-infused pop with hints of acoustic background,” according to Artcore His third album, Empty, was released in June of 2020. “Ethan emphasizes catchy melodies imbued with heartfelt lyrics in all of his music,” and “every note and syllable is thought out and planned.” Monday, July 20
Joel Burdess MA, MS, is a Wyoming writer, visual artist, musician and educator exploring the back roads where literature and place merge to form the unique rhythm of the West. He has been published in The Wyoming Fences Anthology and South Dakota Review. He is a past recipient of the Wyoming Arts Council Writing Fellowship in Creative Nonfiction. Joel will be sharing his literary scholarship as a presenter at the 19th Biennial Hemingway Society Conference in July of 2021.
