CASPER, Wyo. — The Keyhole Peepshow burlesque troupe will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with two nights at The Void in downtown Casper this weekend.

Troupe leader Fathom Swanson’s ever-growing “island of misfits,” now 12 strong, will be taking full advantage of the space and technical freedom at the new venue.

Swanson told Oil City that former audience members have joined the fold, and one eight-year veteran will be doing her first solo act. The troupe will do its first all-member act, and the show will include a reprise of the first act Swanson put on 10 years ago.

Swanson said that the troupe has provided its members an inclusive platform for expression and performance experience, and that its cast is very close in day-to-day life. She said it’s given members self-assurance, not only on the stage but also in their personal lives.

“A lot of the girls have become more comfortable in their dress, more assertive at work, and more confident in their lives and their life decisions,” Swanson said. “They are more confident in saying ‘no.'”

Some of the cast members tell Swanson they feel like they’ve become better role models for their children: “They’re seeing how happy and confident their mom is,” Swanson said.

The “Best of Burlesque” show is billed as an age 18+ celebration of vaudeville and burlesque entertainment.

The shows play at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7, on Friday, Aug. 26, and Saturday, Aug. 27. General seating is $20 each and VIP Couch seats are $60. Five are available.

Purchase tickets through Venmo or with cash at the door.
