CASPER, Wyo. — Visit Casper is awarding ten $2,500 grants to local tourism-oriented businesses and organizations through its new Co-op Marketing Initiative. The deadline for applications is fast approaching, as potential recipients have until May 31 to submit a grant application.
“We want our tourism industry to tap into their creative minds, and we want to help empower them,” Visit Casper CEO Tyler Daugherty said. “Seasonality is a big factor for attractions, hotels and restaurants. We typically lag in November, December, January and February, and so they can really use that marketing kick come spring and summer. So we want them to tell us how they’d use this money.”
Daugherty said all types of businesses and groups are welcome to apply, so long as they demonstrate in their application how the money will be spent to improve tourism to Natrona County.
“It could be an attraction, any of our museums, hotels, you name it,” he said. “Heck, it could be a gas station, so long as they’re able to demonstrate that they’re generating traffic to Natrona County and that they’re working to broaden their reach from a marketing perspective. We don’t want to limit ourselves or pigeonhole ourselves.”
Applications can be submitted as a PDF via email to wayne@visitcasper.com, or printed and delivered to the Visit Casper offices at 139 W. 2nd St. Applications should detail as specifically as possible how the funding will be used, Daugherty said.
