The former Poor Boys Steakhouse has been stripped down to the bones during a major renovation in preparation for its new life as a brewery and liquor store.
The building was purchased by Tony and Cole Cercy last year, who are also in the process of overhauling the historic Wonder Bar downtown as well as the former Botticelli Italian Restaurant and the former Sanford’s downtown.
The Poor Boys building will become C-85 at the Pump Room and feature a brewery and liquor store. Likely the most unique feature will a beer garden and open space outside, where the Cercys have made room by demolishing two small, tired houses. Cole Cercy is using the open spaces at well known Colorado craft breweries New Belgium Brewery and Odell Brewing as models for the concept.
Cole Cercy said he hopes to have the brewery open by August in time for the eclipse event in Casper.
Crews finish clearing land on the east side of the former Poor Boys Steakhouse building in north Casper on May 23. The building is in the process of being converted into a brewery and liquor store by owners Tony and Cole Cercy. The developers also bought and demolished two houses on the east side, where they plan to build an open space and beer garden comparable to New Belgium Brewery’s concept in Fort Collins, Colo., according to Cole Cercy.
