Ten children bravely lined up to ride skittish sheep during the mutton bustin’ event at the Central Wyoming Rodeo on Thursday, July 13, in Casper. Many, like Remy Bowden, were first-time riders. “She doesn’t even like touching animals,” said Remy’s dad. Another parent said his son Riley DeWitt want to eventually ride bareback broncs. When asked if it makes her nervous, his mom said “It’s in Jesus’ hands.”
The mutton bustin’ athletes all receive parting gifts for their bravery, and all took home souvenir dirt from the arena.
