The first-ever community Christmas tree is now but a holiday memory.
Crews (all volunteer) removed 50-foot tree from its custom stand in David Street Station in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Jan. 10. It was cut and chipped on site.
The tree was donated by a property owner in Mills after it had overgrown its surroundings. All the work, from removing, transporting and installing, was donated by local businesses.
The next tree will be installed in the center of the new splash pad/ice rink in the plaza, which is now under construction.
