The C85 Wonder Bar is reportedly closing permanently, according to an employee.

An employee at the Wonder Bar reached by phone confirmed reports that the business was closing.

The reports were confirmed in a short press release issued by C85 group management, which said the final day of operation will be this Sunday, Feb. 10.

“The restaurant has a workforce of approximately 25 employees, and the management recognizes the dedication of their staff and will work to place them at positions within our community,” said the release.

When asked by phone about possible sale or future of the Wonder Bar, a C85 group employee had no comment.

The C85 group also runs nearby Branding Iron on Second Street and the Pump Room on North Center. According to a C85 employee those restaurants will remain open.

The Wonder Bar has been a piece of Casper’s downtown fabric since the early 1930s.
