Gusty winds, hail produce ‘hazardous weather outlook’ for Casper

A storm is expected to stir up an otherwise prime summer day in Casper.

According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, a series of afternoon thunderstorms will move through the area this afternoon and tonight.

“Strong to possibly severe storms will be possible west of the Divide, as well as the Wind River Basin,” said the alert.

“Large hail and wind gusts over 60 mph will be the main threats.”

In Casper, the NWS is predicting a high around 80 degrees today.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds and small hail are expected tonight.

More gusty winds and possible precipitation are expected for Friday afternoon.
