The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office implemented the restrictions on BLM-administered public lands due to dry conditions and high fire danger.

Along with campfires, the restrictions include outdoor smoking away from designated areas, operating chainsaws without proper spark arresters, and using welding equipment in areas without at least 10 feet of clearance and with a proper fire extinguisher.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for much of central Wyoming, including Natrona County, predicting high temperatures, low humidity and possibly gusty winds later today.

Temperatures in the Casper are are expected to reach 93 degrees today, and 92 degrees on Thursday. Wind gusts today could reach 30 mph, according to the NWS.
