CASPER, Wyo. — Paradise Valley outdoor pool will reopen on Tuesday, July 26, the City of Casper stated in a release Saturday.

Swimming lessons will resume at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and fitness swim will begin at noon. Open swim starts at 1 p.m.

The pool has been closed since July 15 due to a broken pump impeller, the release stated. “City Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities staff were able to source a replacement pump impeller and expedite shipping. The pump impeller arrived late Friday and repairs occurred over the weekend,” continued the City of Casper. “The pool’s pump impeller pushes water through the filtration system and is integral to health and safety.”

Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Director Zulima Lopez thanked the community for its patience in the release, apologizing for the closure. “Swimming in our public pools is an essential part of the Casper summer experience for our families, and we’re looking at our parts inventory so that closures like this won’t happen in the future,” she said.
