CASPER, Wyo. — Casper may soon have a unified time for liquor sales across all licenses, but the matter must first come to a public hearing.

The Casper City Council meets at 6 p.m. today at City Hall, where it will consider setting April 4 as the public hearing date on an ordinance to amend the hours for liquor sales for clubs holding limited retail liquor licenses. Currently, those sales are limited to 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. The new hours would match the city’s other liquor licenses, which allow sales between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m., a city staff memo states.

The amendment is possible because hour restrictions for liquor licenses were eliminated from state statute in July 2017, the memo states. That left each municipality to decide those hours of operation.

“At this time, Staff would like to make all liquor licenses the same and allow clubs to serve before nine a.m., which would allow golf clubs to serve during early tee times,” the memo states.
