CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper City Council will consider a $65,750 agreement between the city and Motorola Solutions Inc. to provide residents an engagement portal for reporting incidents to police.

The Casper Police Department has offered online reporting through other online applications, but the service has been unavailable for two years because of interface entry errors, a staff memo to the council states.

“The Motorola Community Engagement module would provide citizens the ability to complete online reporting for specific incidents and allow officers to respond to more emergent calls,” the memo states.

The agreement would include annual payments across five years. The first year cost would be higher at $14,510 since it includes implementation costs and the subscription fee, while the subsequent payments would be $12,810 per year.

Funding for the service would come from the CPD “Other Contractual” budget line, according to the memo.
