CASPER, Wyo. — The students in the Roosevelt High School class of 2023 moved on to the next chapter in their young lives on Thursday afternoon during the school’s graduation ceremony at the Ford Wyoming Center.

Students heard speeches from Casper artist Zach Pullen; their principal, Bryan Honken; and several of their own graduating classmates before receiving their diplomas.

“This group is full of students who have overcome adversity, faced your challenges, and recovered from disappointment to succeed and sit here as one student body in the class of 2023,” Honken said.

“We as Roosevelt students have always been looked at differently,” said graduating senior Natellie Herrera in her speech. “We have been ‘labeled,’ but I just want to say that we are not ‘troubled’ and ‘problematic,’ but we are strong and dedicated.”

Natrona County High School will hold its ceremony Thursday night, while Midwest’s and Kelly Walsh High School’s ceremonies are on Friday.
