CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper City Council is set to discuss potential amendments to the Casper Municipal Code tonight at 6 p.m. The topic of interest? Updates to Section 10.52.030, which deals with DUI offenses, according to a memo prepared for the council.
This section, which hasn’t been revised since 2002, focuses on driving or controlling a vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating substances.
The proposed amendment seeks to synchronize Section 10.52.030 with Wyoming State Statute §31-5-233. City staff have recommended that a Public Hearing for this ordinance be scheduled for Oct. 3.
The proposed addition to the ordinance reads:
“c. Any drug or psychoactive substance, or any combination of these substances, capable of impairing a person’s physical or mental faculties.”
