Dozens of people lined up for the chance to gaze at stars through high quality telescopes during a “star party” on Monday evening at the Natrona County Public Library.
The party was organized by the Central Wyoming Astronomical Society, which is organizing more celestial events leading up to this month’s eclipse. The group of amateur astronomers was instrumental in bringing the Astrocon 2017 convention to Casper, according to member Alan Corey.
Upcoming events include a viewing with a solar telescope on the 17th, and a viewing on the 19th with representatives from Celestron Telescopes who will bring high end equipment for people to use.
