The Eclipse event on Aug. 21, 2017, briefly turned Casper into what felt like the center of the universe.

Hundreds of tourists flooded into Casper to see the unusual event at ground zero. In response, Casper’s businesses and civic organizations put years of planning into play to provide a weekend no one who was there will forget.

Approaching the one-year anniversary of the eclipse event, we compiled our favorite photos from the days leading up to and including the solar spectacular.
