Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Shop Manager, the Fleet Technician will perform preventive maintenance as well as basic repairs on Prairie Field Services equipment. This position is a critical member of the team and will help ensure our fleet is well maintained.
Responsibilities
- Grease equipment
- Perform filter and fluid changes in accordance with company guidelines
- Mount, dismount, replace and rotate tires
- Inspect, repair and maintain tractors and tanker trailers
- Read electrical wiring diagrams/schematics
- Recognize worn parts by visual inspection
- Assist lead mechanics in their tasks and duties as assigned
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- One year of experience of heavy-duty fleet maintenance experience
- Previous experience with tankers preferred
- Experience working with air systems preferred
- Experience with hydraulic systems preferred
- Lift a minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds
- Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry
- Frequent bending, twisting and lifting
- Make accurate and decisive decisions regarding types of repairs necessary
- Valid driver’s license and be able to pass our MVR check
- Must be thorough and punctual with a willingness to learn new skills as needed
Compensation
Wage is based on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, vacation and 401k. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen.
