Families will have a chance to ring in the “Noon Year” for a daytime New Year’s Eve event at The Lyric and David Street Station.
Central Wyoming Counseling Center is sponsoring the Mac & Cheese Festival and Noon Year’s Celebration on December 31st, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Officials say that the event is free and family-friendly.
According to a statement from event officials, the celebration will feature a countdown to noon, live music at David Street Station, as well as Casper’s first ever Mac & Cheese Festival at The Lyric.

Local restaurants will be putting fun twists on the traditional comfort food in hopes of earning the crown of Casper’s Mac & Cheese Champion. In addition to a performance from Hagen in the Grainbox, David Street Station will also host games and New Year’s themed crafts.
This brand new event provides Casper the opportunity to ring in the New Year in a safe, alcohol- free environment, says CWCC Development Coordinator Kyle Gamroth. Organizers have decided to host the event earlier in the day because it gave everyone more options.
“Celebrating the New Year can be difficult for families or for adults that don’t want to be around with alcohol,” Gamroth explains. “By counting down to noon, we’re still giving the kids the excitement of a countdown without having to stay up late, and parents can still go out at night if they’d like. And if you want a party without alcohol, this is going to be a fun community event with hopefully a big turnout.”
Gamroth goes on to say that he hopes that this will become an annual tradition.
