Casper’s MLK Day of Service and Remembrance Celebration

Casper’s Martin Luther King, Jr./Wyoming Equality Day Celebration, sponsored by ServeWyoming and many other partners, will be on Monday, January 15, 2018. The “Day On, Not a Day Off” will begin with a march, at 11:00 am at City Park, 7th & Center, and ends at First United Methodist Church, 302 East 2nd St.

Folks who do not want to march may ride the C.A.T.C. bus in the march or are welcome to come directly to the church.

Following a proclamation by Mayor Ray Pacheco, Hamid Kahn, an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina, attorney, and civil rights advocate, will be the keynote speaker. Music will be provided by Casper’s United Church of Christ.

After, participants are invited to lunch (free-will offering) hosted at Food for Thought Project, 900 Saint John St. and a SERVICE PROJECT from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Donations of non-perishable food will be collected at the Church for the Holy Cross Food Bank or at Wyoming Food For Thought.
