The Wyoming Rescue Mission, based right here in Casper, provides emergency shelter, meals, and a variety of programs to homeless or needy individuals in the community.
Their upcoming event, Compassion Night 2018, is the organization’s annual fundraiser and celebration of the Mission. According to communications coordinator Michael Cavalier, this year the organization moved away from the formal banquet idea and based the fundraising night around a community and the Christian music scene.
The event will feature Tim Timmons as the Special Guest Artist of the night. Timmons shares his battle with cancer through music and storytelling. “He’s an incredibly powerful singer and songwriter,” Cavalier says.

The organization hopes to raise $60,000 for the Mission at this event. Of every dollar donated, 82 cents goes right back to the nonprofit to fund their programs, according to Cavalier.
Compassion Night will take place Thursday, September 13 at Highland Park Community Church. Doors will open at 5:30 pm for a social hour with hors d’oeuvres before the show begins at 6:15 pm.
Tickets are available for $15 each on the Wyoming Rescue Mission website.
