Saturday morning, veterans, volunteers, and the families of the fallen gathered at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville to pay their respects.

As part of the annual Wreaths Across America, 4,000 wreaths were placed on the final resting places of veterans buried in Natrona County, according to speaker Bob Price during Saturday’s ceremony. Wreaths were also laid at Highland Park Cemetery and the Memorial Gardens.

Hundreds of volunteers said the name of the soldier aloud, then placed the wreath below the stone to keep the memory of the person alive.
