Forget the bubbly – celebrate the New Year with mac & cheese

(Dan Cepeda, Oil City)

Monday afternoon, the second annual Noon Year’s Mac & Cheese Festival will take over David Street Station. From 11 am to 1 pm, vendors will be dishing up free tasting bowls of cheesy goodness and full bowls of your favorite flavor will be available for $5. Julie Schmitt, a member of the David Street Station team, hopes having the ice rink open during the event will draw an even bigger crowd than last year.

This year’s restaurants will include HQ BBQ, C85 Branding Iron, Eggingtons, Grab and Go Gourmet, and JC Burgers. The vendors will be stationed in tents around the Station as well as inside of The Lyric to utilize the whole space.

Families can enjoy mac and cheese inspired crafts and make 2019 crowns on site, Schmitt says. Then, count down to noon near the Christmas tree to ring in 2019 with those little ones who may not make it to midnight.
