CASPER, Wyo. — Six large summer rodeos in Wyoming have been cancelled due to logistics and safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, flanked by rodeo organizers who were involved in the decision, announced the rodeo cancellations during a Wednesday, May 27 press conference.
A video posted on the the Wyoming Office of Tourism’s “Travel Wyoming” Youtube page was shown during the press conference. Rodeo organizers explained why the cancellations were necessary:
