CASPER, Wyo. — Lemonade Day is a fun opportunity for kids to learn how to start and run their own business. This year will mark the eighth annual Lemonade Day, and to start it off is the Lemonade Day Kickoff, Wednesday, May 4, at the Hilltop Bank main branch on Country Club Road.

The kickoff will take place from 3 to 5 p.m., and kids can register there. This will also be their first opportunity to claim a Lemonade Day backpack, which contains everything they need to get started, including an entrepreneur guide, coupons for supplies and more.

All kickoff attendees are also eligible to win hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes, like gift cards from Sutherlands and Hilltop.

The big event is not happening until June 25, but as we all know, “Rome was not built in a day,” and neither was a small business. The kickoff event helps children start thinking through the process and how they will set up their (hopefully) booming lemonade business.

In order to participate and succeed, kids must follow a 14-step process that includes budgeting, marketing, construction, research, developing a recipe and tabulating business results. On June 25, you will find a lemonade stand run by a very young entrepreneur on their way to starting larger businesses later in life.

Head to Hilltop National Bank to get a small business started or visit the Lemonade Day website for more information.
