CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper City Council will hold a pre-meeting work session followed by a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 17 at City Hall, 200 N. David St.
The pre-meeting work session begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, with the City Council set to hear about an audit of the city’s financials in fiscal year 2021, among other topics.
The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The City Council will be asked to consider authorizing a contract with Kansas City–based Police Facility Design Group for up to $2,061,978 to design renovations of the Casper Business Center, the building the city recently purchased for $8 million to house police headquarters, municipal court and other city functions.
The City Council will also look to finalize rules for summer downtown open container nights during the regular meeting.
Another item on the agenda is the first reading consideration of new rules for food trucks that would allow longer parking downtown and access to electric outlets at the Goodstein parking lot.
The City Council will also be asked to authorize depositing $4,956,472 into a sinking fund to help pay the city’s obligations to the state to help shore up the Fire A pension fund.
Another item asks the City Council to consider authorizing the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the city and the local firefighters’ union for the upcoming fiscal year.
