CASPER, Wyo. — The third annual Casper Karma Yoga Festival will be held Saturday, July 9 at Casper Boat Club. This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force, as well as Casper’s Health Care for the Homeless clinic.

The festival will open with a group meditation at 8 a.m., then feature yoga classes taught by eight different instructors from the Casper area. One class offered will be Stand Up Paddleboard yoga, which will take place on the lake atop 10-foot paddleboards. “Since the platform is unstable in the water, you engage your core more for better balance,” said the class’s description on the site.

Other classes offered include Shakti-lini, Subtle Body Yoga, Sound Bath and The Joy of Being Alive.

Vendors will also be at the site, featuring various products and services. After the opening meditation, classes will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a break for lunch at noon.

The festival is returning after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. It began in 2018 as a graduation project organized by teachers completing their training, and saw huge success.

“The intention behind the Casper Karma Yoga Festival is to promote a positive connection with our community,” its website said. “Each year the festival will donate all profits to a different local service or charity; creating a wave of positive karma that continues to serve others along the way.”
