CASPER, Wyo. — The veteran-owned garden supply store 4 Seasons Garden Supply & Hydroponics, which supports hydroponics, aquaponics and many other gardening techniques, will host a grand opening celebration at 5104-A CY Ave. on Saturday, July 30. The event will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with City Councilmember Lisa Engebretsen cutting the ribbon at noon.

The store was originally opened in January by combat veteran Budd Pitt and his green-thumbed business partner Neil. The store has a large capacity for hydroponics (growing plants in a soilless medium) and offers one of the best inventories in the state for it, according to the owners. Microgreens — young vegetable greens that can be grown quickly and provide a great deal of nutrition — are another specialty of the store.

4 Seasons Garden Supply & Hydroponics aims to hire and feed veterans as well as give them a purpose away from war, Budd previously said in an advertisement. Neil said, “When Budd and I got together, he mentioned how many veterans come home from tours not knowing how to cope with day-to-day life. For many of them, gardening has become a form of release; that’s what we are conveying at 4 Seasons.”

At the event, a raffle will be held to win a Gorilla Grow Tent, which allows one to carefully control plant growth indoors.
