CASPER, Wyo. — Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities held a walk for awareness this morning at Sunrise Shopping Center, and dozens of people turned out to take part.

“March was Disability Awareness Month, so we’re celebrating that today and trying to bring awareness to the issues that people with disabilities face every day,” council chairperson Austin Berlin said.

“We’re trying to raise awareness about different walking styles and abilities,” councilmember Dawn Lacko added.

This was the first time Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities has hosted a walk, and Austin said it likely won’t be the last.

“I’m really happy with the turnout, all the people who came to take part,” she said.
