CASPER, Wyo. — This weekend, people will be able to enjoy some good eats while helping people fighting cancer at the annual Oil City Gumbo Cookoff at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. The fundraiser will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3 at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds, 1700 Fairgrounds Road. The festivities will last until 3 p.m.

Several teams are taking part this year, and a panel of judges will be giving awards for the best meat-based and seafood-based gumbos. Additionally, attendees will be able to cast votes in a people’s choice award.

In addition to the variety of gumbos for attendees to enjoy, the event will feature live music from local bands and artists, a vendor fair, a beer tent, a kids’ activity area and more.

Admission to the event is $10.

The Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers financial assistance to Wyoming Cancer patients with non-medical needs during treatment.
