CASPER, Wyo. — Camp Hope, which provides education and support to children with diabetes, took to the Beacon Club on Saturday for its annual fundraiser.
Attendees at the fundraiser enjoyed silent auction items, raffles, live music, children’s activities and more. The fundraiser will run until 6 p.m.
Money raised will go toward running the camp, co-founder Nancy Johnson said. Some of the funds will also go toward offering financial assistance to families that can’t afford the registration cost.
“We provide them with a lot of education about living with diabetes, and I also do a support group with the kids,” she said. “Of course, they have fun too.”
In addition to the education and support, campers at Camp Hope enjoy all the usual fun activities found at summer camps, such as swimming, hiking, miniature golf, field trips, bowling, games, competitive sports, arts and crafts and more.
The camp is held during the last week of June, and Johnson said there is still time for people to register by going to the camp’s website here or by calling 307-259-3327.
“I’ve been very happy with the turnout so far,” Johnson said. “Hopefully we get even more throughout the rest of the day.”
