CASPER, Wyo. — Kids, pups and athletes of all abilities are invited to participate in the annual Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning, hosted by the Casper Windy City Striders.

The event will be held at the Tate Pumphouse, 1775 W. 1st St., where the course starts and ends after looping around the Three Crowns golf course.

Registration will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23.

Registration is $5, and all proceeds will benefit Casper Poverty Resistance. Organizers are also welcoming donations of non-perishable food items, dog or cat food and cleaning supplies.

Those with pups in tow are reminded to have leashes and start at the back of the pack to avoid entanglements and trips.

Snow showers are possible during the day, so those with strollers are advised that there is no guarantee on trail conditions.
