CASPER, Wyo. — A Wyoming inmate has died, according to a release from the Wyoming Department of Corrections.
According to the release, Chris Jasper Montoya died on Nov. 5, 2021 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
No information on why he was hospitalized was given, and the WDOC says an autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.
The release says that Montoya was convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, third offense, in Carbon County and was sentenced to “two to three years” on March 9, 2020 by Second Judicial District Court Judge Snyder.
Montoya’s date of birth was on Aug. 19, 1968 and he was born in Rawlins, the release said.
