CASPER, Wyo. – Rising COVID-19 concerns has caused Evansville Fire-EMS to cancel their annual haunted house event.
The cancelation was announced on social media on Wednesday.
The department said the cancelations came from recommendations from the CDC on Halloween activities, which says that indoor events such as haunted houses are in a high risk category.

“This decision did not come easily and is what is best for our community as a whole,” they said. “We hope to see everybody next year for our annual haunted house event.”
The announcement was made on the same day Natrona County health experts held a press conference at the Wyoming Medical Center to discuss the spike in COVID-19 cases over the past month. Wyoming is seeing a dramatic increase in cases, positivity rates and a record number of hospitalizations from COVID.
The Wyoming Department of Health provides COVID-19 case, variant, death, testing, hospital and vaccine data online. The department also shares information about how the data can be interpreted. COVID-19 safety recommendations are available from the CDC.
