39 more COVID-19 deaths bring Wyoming’s total to 1,080 people


CASPER, Wyo. — 39 more Wyoming residents have died after contracting COVID-19.

The Wyoming Department of Health reported the additional COVID-19-related deaths among Wyoming residents on Tuesday, October 12.

1,080 Wyomingites have reportedly died after contracting COVID-19 since the pandemic began in spring 2020. These are deaths that have COVID-19 listed as either the underlying or primary cause of death or as a contributing cause of death, WDH explains.

223 people were hospitalized in Wyoming after contracting COVID-19 on Monday. The most recent peak in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state occurred on September 8, when there were 233 patients in Wyoming hospitals.
