CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Health reported an additional 56 COVID-19-related deaths among Wyoming residents on Tuesday, October 19.

The additional deaths brought the number of Wyoming residents who have died after contracting COVID-19 to 1,136 since the pandemic began. These are deaths that have COVID-19 listed as either the underlying or primary cause of death or as a contributing cause of death, the WDH explains.

The WDH has also begun to report COVID-19 data in conjunction with people’s vaccination status. The new dashboard only includes data for cases dating back to May 1.

11 Wyoming residents who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 have reportedly died after contracting the virus. That is about 3.32% of the 331 deaths reported since May 1.

Since May 1, 27 people who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 have been hospitalized after contracting the virus. That about 2.82% of the 959 COVID-19 hospitalizations during that time span.

The Wyoming Department of Health provides COVID-19 case, variant, death, testing, hospital and vaccine data online. The department also shares information about how the data can be interpreted. COVID-19 safety recommendations are available from the CDC.
