Wyoming Department of Corrections reports 16 new COVID cases this week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDC) reported 16 new COVID-19 cases the previous week over four different facilities.

Test results for the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp in Newcastle were not available at the time of the news release, per the WDC. There have been a total of eight Wyoming inmate deaths attributed to COVID-19, per WDC numbers.

The numbers for each facility are as follows:

  • Wyoming State Penitentiary, Rawlins: Seven positive cases (Four inmates, three staff)
  • Wyoming Women’s Center, Lusk: Four positive cases (Two inmates, two staff)
  • Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution, Torrington: Three positive cases (Two inmates, one staff)
  • Wyoming Honor Farm, Riverton: Two inmate cases
