Four members of the Casper College Lady Thunderbirds were named to several 2018-2019 All-Region teams, according to a Casper College news release.

Sophomore center Nerea Baena Criado, from Barcelona, sophomore forward Lucie Hoskova, from the Czech Republic and sophomore guard Maggie Justinak of Rock Spring were selected for the North All-Region IX Team, the release states.

Sophomore guard Jaye Johnson, from Casper, was named to the North All-Region IX Defensive team, the release adds. Hoskova, Johnson and Justinak also received All-Region IX Tournament Team honors.

“‘These sophomores had an amazing run while at Casper College,'” Head Coach Dwight Gunnare said in the release.

The Lady T-Birds were Region IX North champions for the second year in a row, according to the release. They finished 13-1 in the region with an overall record of 27-7.

Gunnare added that the sophomores had a 58-10 overall record during their two years at CC. They went 27-1 in Sub-Region IX North during that time, he said in the release.

“’This is an exceptional tribute to the quality of our players, and they are all well deserving of this award,’” Gunnare was quoted as saying to conclude the release.
