CASPER, Wyo. — The Natrona County Board of County Commissioners authorized a contract between the County and Casper Nordic Club for the “use, grooming and maintenance of Nordic Trails” during their Tuesday, April 16 meeting.

“This contract is to establish the procedures for Club to use Trails for its activities and to assist grooming and maintaining trails,” the contract reads.

The Natrona County Parks Department manages, grooms and maintains some trails at the Casper Mountain Nordic Trails. The contract requires the Casper Nordic Club to provide a grooming and maintenance schedule by Nov. 30 for the County to approve.

“[The] club must perform grooming by a competent groomer and maintenance as scheduled as directed by County in a manner that provides a safe environment for all Trails users and with minimum disturbance to the surrounding area,” the contract adds.

The club must also provide and activities schedule by Nov. 30 and must properly mark courses and provide maps to the County when a competition is scheduled.

They must also remove course markings and restore trails after competitions have concluded.

The contract also requires the Casper Nordic Club to maintain insurance.

The contract permits the Casper Nordic Club to use the trails for their activities. It also requires that the County provide information about the Casper Nordic Club’s activities and a trails map on the County’s website.

The County also has to provide space for the club to store grooming and maintenance equipment.
